POLIN
A visit at POLIN - Museum of the History of Polish Jews in Warsaw. The aim of the visit at the museum was to present a long history of relations and interactions between Jews and Poles, the coexistence of two different traditions, cultures and religions on the territory of Poland. The participants familiarized themselves with reciprocal interaction of the two nations, what is more, they got informed how stereotypes were formed in the relations between Jews and Poles. They could see how negative stereotypes led to forming negative attitudes, prejudice and finally to holocaust. The visit at the museum made the participants possible to familiarize themselves with war and post-war history of Poland mainly in terms of social, cultural and moral issues. That closer look at history, culture, tradition, morality and the religion of Jews made it possible to reject negative stereotypes which still exist among Poles. What is more, the visit made it possible to spread the idea of tolerance and openness, moreover, broaden the participants’ knowledge about Polish Jews. The visit at the museum made the participants aware of the fact that it is so easy to destroy people and relations between two nations living together in one country by means of manipulation, propaganda and false stereotypes. The visit brought the issues of integration, cooperation between cultures and different nations living on the territory of one country out into the open. The discussion was crucial in the face of the war in Ukraine and numerous immigrants arriving in Poland these days.
